BAQEE ADVOCACY & AWARENESS KIT

If you are unable to participate in official Al Baqee advocacy efforts, we encourage you to advocate for this important cause in your local areas. You may hold a protest, majlis/jeshan in your local center or take a picture and post it to social media. When engaging in any advocacy efforts, please make sure to obtain all necessary permits and permissions from your local authority and abide by local government rules & regulations.

The resources provided in this document include designs for banners, flyers, t-shirts, and letters to government officials regarding the Al Baqee mission. Please feel free to customize these sample documents for local officials and representatives.

Baqee Protest - make your voice heard by the masses and let the world know that you demand the rebuilding of Jannatul Baqee. This is the most powerful form of advocacy because you are making your voice heard by the public.

Make sure to obtain all necessary permits and permissions from your local government authority (e.g., city, town, and state)

  • Select a venue as close as possible to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia embassy or consulate. Alternate venues could be key government buildings and/or famous landmarks. It is essential to select locations like these so you can appeal directly to the government authority.

  • Use the following attached items to make your protest effective

    • Banner designs on this page to print larger banners to carry during protests.

    • A script of slogans and have the crowd chant these during the protests.

    • Flyers to hand out to individuals passing by the protest to provide them with more information.

    • Customize the attached letters and memoranda to hand deliver to your local Saudi consulate or local government authority.

Hold an Event at your Center - this event will raise awareness of Jannatul Baqee at your local center and hopefully recruit others to support this cause.  You may use the following materials at any event but can specifically be used for the birth or death anniversary of any of the Ahlul Bayt buried in Jannatul Baqee (Bibi Fatima, Imam Hasan, Imam Zain ul Abideen, Imam Muhammad Baqir, and Imam Jafar Sadiq). You can also conduct art competitions and encourage youth to draw their version of Jannatul Baqee. You can also conduct seminars and have an intellectual discussion about the history of Jannat ul Baqee.

  • Contact Al Baqee and request a canopy so that you can erect it at your event.

  • Use banner designs to decorate your local center.

Social Media Awareness/Advocacy- if you cannot hold any of the above events, the simplest way to get involved is to post on social media. Follow these steps to get involved:
