The conscience of a believer remains alive as long as the light of faith shines in the heart. There is no faith without the love of the holy Prophet (saw) and his household (as). The expression of such love is through their remembrance and honoring their resting places. The least a believer can do is to understand the importance of the holy graves and raise their voice against the destruction of the graves in al-Baqi cemetery in Saudi Arabia by the Saudi family. It’s high time for the Muslims to decide which group they belong to as the holy Quran says –
Holy Quran 60:13
O you who have believed, do not make friendship (tawalla) with those people with whom Allah has become angry. They have despaired of [reward in] the Hereafter just as the disbelievers have despaired of the inhabitants of the graves.
According to this verse, there are two kinds of people who are similar in the eyes of Allah (swt).
1.  People with whom Allah‘s wrath falls upon because they are hopeless (يَئِسُوا) of the Hereafter (Akhirat).
2.  People who are nonbelievers because they are hopeless of the people of the graves.
The opposite of hopelessness is hopefulness (umeed).
The noble and sanctified graves are the graves of the prophet (saw) and his holy household (as). These shrines over such sanctified graves are the source of hope for forgiveness and reward for the believers as the Qur’an says
Holy Quran 4:64
And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muhammad], and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful.
The above verse of the holy quran is valid and effective until the day of judgment, hence true believers are those who go today to the sanctified grave with the hopes of receiving forgiveness and reward.
According to the grand scholar Rasheed Turabi, nonbelievers are those who think graves of the chosen servants of Allah (swt) are nothing but a pile of soil, and they cannot intercede for you. The most deviant group among the human beings are those who have always tried to erase the signs and remembrance of Ahlul Bayt (as) from this world. It’s a clear proof that the graves of the messengers and the Imams (as) stands as a lantern of guidance and as an identifier of truth and falsehood even today.
There is no group of people in the world who destroys the graves of the noble personalities except those who are despaired of any reward on the Day of Judgment. They are none but the real nonbelievers like the followers of the Wahabi and Salafi ideology.
Our simple message to the Muslims of the world is: If the graves of our dear ones are purposely destroyed, then it is not in the realm of possibilities that we will not be upset and angry. Similarly if the grave of the Prophet (saw) is destroyed, then it is not in the realm of possibilities that Allah (swt) will not be angry. It is a matter of certainty that Allah (swt) will not be pleased to see the grave of His beloved (Habeeb) destroyed.
If this is clear, then how about the already destroyed grave of the one whom the prophet (saw) loved the most – Lady Fatima al Zahra (sa)?
    Prophet Muhammad (sa) said: “Fatima is part of me, whatever harms her harms me, and whatever is against her is against me.” Mustadrak Al-Sahihain, v. 3, p. 173; Sunan Al-Tirmidhi, v. 3, Chapter on the Virtues of Fatima, p. 240; Kenz Al-Omal, v. 13, p. 94; Muntakhab Kenz Al-Omal, in the margin of Al-Musnad, v. 5, p. 96; Al-Sawaiq Al-Muhariqa, ch. 3, p. 190.
